Homemade Disney

Grace has a special friend in our neighborhood, Mr. Don, who shares her love of all things Disney. Mr. Don was gracious enough to make Grace copies of literally every sound played in Disney World (I do believe that we even have the music piped in through the speakers in the bathrooms in Adventureland - and Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and every other land at Disney!). Grace calls this her "Mickey-usic," the sounds of which fill our home day and night. And so this is how I found my sweet girl this morning: listening to the music from Splash Mountain while sitting in her "lawg" with her guys. It is worth noting that the child has never actually ridden the ride - she has merely seen the ride during her 200+ viewings of the free Disney vacation planning DVD we got in the mail.

And here is she "getting wet" after the big drop:

And now Grace, Hippo and Curious George are in their "Doom Buggy" riding Haunted Mansion:

Little does Grace know that she has a suprise trip to see the big mouse in less than a week! We fly to San Diego on Tuesday with Ma Maw Sweetie for a conference for Scott - and then we're surprising the kids with a trip to Disneyland when the conference is over. Scott and I are excited to be starting off the conference circuit - my dad's annual IEEE conference was always a big deal for my parents - who ironically had their first conference in San Diego. My mom is coming along with us to help with the kids and make sure that we get our "conference career" off of the right foot!
