Harold and the Purple Crayon

Tis' the eve of Scott's big mean allergy/immunology board exam. It is also the much anticipated date of the Harold and the Purple Crayon play at the Paramount Theater. We're big Harold fans in this house and I've been busting at the gut for this date for...well...as long as Scott has been dreading it. We spent the afternoon packing up a cooler of "smart" snacks for Scott and wished him luck as he pulled out of the driveway for Lynchburg, VA and then turned on a heel and squealed with excitement as we got changed for the theater. We arrived, found our seats, and counted down the minutes before precious Harold took the stage. Right. I wasn't quite prepared. Harold looked a lot less like a precious little boy and a lot more like something out of a horror movie.

Yikes. It was really well done...and I'm all for the arts and for using your imagination...but can we do something about that mask?
The kids loved the show. And the popcorn for dinner (we were busy getting Scott out the door). And Splendora gelato after the show. And seeing school friends outside of school. And getting to stay up nearly 2 hours past bedtime to go do it all!
