We went to Charleston on Dec 13 for an early "Palm Tree Christmas" with Aunt Suzie, Uncle David, Grandpa Ern, and Aunt Ashley. Aunt Suzie hosted this wonderful weekend and spoiled us rotten with wonderful meals and pies and sweets! We went to Mimi's restaurant for the very last time - this was our very favorite restaurant when we lived in Charleston. We celebrated every occasion at this place - they had the very best shrimp and grits in all of Charleston and on my very last visit, Chef Mimi handed me her recipe! I will be making it as soon as I get the courage to cook with that much bacon grease!
