I'm older than Scott. I don't care about this. I also frequently lie about my feelings on this subject. For the last 2 years, I've been 35. When I turned 35, I decided that it would be best to let Scott catch up to me and then I promised to age together, arm in arm, into the sunset of life. I should probably confess that I hit Hallmark today in search of a good card for my grandmother. After nearly an hour of reading cheesy sentiments, I decided to go home and pen her a letter...but as a side effect of my visit, I'm now speaking Hallmark...I digress.
My sweet husband turned the big 35 on Thursday. We celebrated with Scott's mom famous chicken enchiladas and a chocolate cake...shaped like a moving box. We had a really nice family weekend and finally ventured into our backyard in search of the tree house and stream. After a brief hike, we found both. The tree house disappointed (tree hazard more accurate) but the stream was incredible. I was picturing a little trickle of water over a few rocks but it is more of the bring-your-fishing-rod river. It is so beautiful!
Grace and Andy decided that X would mark the spot of the tree house.
We found the river!
We finished our weekend playing on the swingset and pushing Grace on the tire swing. Sheer bliss.
I think we're going to like it here!
So happy birthday to the best daddy Grace and Andy could have ever dreamed of, and to the most incredible husband I could have ever imagined!
